A minimal Flutter GUI for managing Toolbox containers on KDE
Flutter desktop app inspired by Kontainer, scoped to the smaller command surface Toolbox actually supports: list, create, enter, and remove containers via podman/toolbox. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

Ktoolbox
A simple Flutter desktop GUI for managing Toolbox containers on Linux.
Inspired by Kontainer, which does the same thing for Distrobox. Toolbox has a much smaller command surface than Distrobox (no clone, assemble, upgrade, or app/binary export), so Ktoolbox stays intentionally minimal:
- List Toolbox containers (via
podman, filtered by thecom.github.containers.toolboxlabel) - Create a container (optional name + image)
- Enter a container in your terminal (tries Ptyxis, Konsole, GNOME Terminal, then xterm)
- Remove a container
Requirements
- Podman and Toolbox installed
- A terminal emulator on
$PATH(ptyxis, konsole, gnome-terminal, or xterm)
Running
flutter run -d linux
Building
flutter build linux
