Not having *-logos leads to conclicts and will either break package
layering (file already exists) or completely replace them if used in
downstream images if a single package like anaconda requires them.
To comply with the licensing of the fedora-logos we have to swap it out
for the generic-logos.
"This package and its content may not be distributed with anything but
unmodified packages from Fedora Project. It can be used in a Fedora Spin,
but not in a Fedora Remix. If necessary, this package can be replaced by
the more liberally licensed generic-logos package."
By swapping it out with the generic-logos we can get away with not
making a dummy package, allowing these "problematic" packages to be installed
on downstream images and keep using OCI/non-RPM for our branding.
* feat: enable KDE 6.6 Beta builds
latest kernel is nasty, so just going for the coreos-stable kernel now
on beta
The panel task manager widget config is not present in the beta packages
* fix: use latest kernel
ostree hotfix and sysext is fixed in 6.18.5
* fix firewall installation
* feat: FROM quay.io/fedora-ostree-desktops/kinoite
Instead of using the ublue-os/kinoite-main base image we would be using
the ones built by Timothée over at https://gitlab.com/fedora/ostree/ci-test
This is a good path forward for Aurora because:
- we no longer have to undo things we inherit from ublue-os/main
- less overall dependencies
- we can make more conscious decisions about what goes into the image
- it's easier now to build images on top of upcoming Fedora versions
(even KDE nightly ones) or to base on top of potential future images
that are more aligned with our goals and needs
This would come at the cost of maintaining most of what main did
previously ourselves.

We were overwriting files we derive from kinoite-main and then removing
the ones that are overlapping between the two, resulting in missing udev
rules. This basically goes for all ublue* packages that kinoite-main
includes, so also moved ublue-os-luks.
Fixes: https://github.com/ublue-os/aurora/issues/1530
hhd/rechunk previously cleaned this up, so we never noticed and had
leftovers of 600MiB on our image. This is needed when we move off of
this rechunker implementation.
* feat: move back rpm-ostreed.conf
This is tech debt only for this repo and is not an "asset" shared
between multiple aurora variants.
* feat: add bootc install config
CentOS Stream doesn't support BTRFS out of the box
* feat: add dracut/modprobe configs
module enablement is not an asset and should not be shared between
variants
* feat: add stuff for preinstall bazaar flatpak back
we don't need this on LTS as we start fresh there, this is not an "asset"
* feat: add SDDM stuff
Plasma Login Manager is the future and we shouldn't introduce
workarounds on other Aurora variants when there is a fix in sight.
* feat: add flatpak-nuke-fedora.service
We only have to deal with this problem on Fedora bases
* fix: actually COPY system_files
* Update system_files/shared/etc/rpm-ostreed.conf

Also happens to remove the dnf and yum wrappers.

fixes: https://github.com/ublue-os/aurora/issues/1404
This is a proprietary driver from negativo repo.
We had this in the past and this is hardware enablement so I think it's fine to include
* feat: move wallpapers over to oci artifact
We need the -l flag for rsync because /usr/share/wallpapers from the OCI
artifact is a relative symlink to /usr/share/backgrounds/aurora. Or else
the symlinks don't get copied at all.
* fix: use stuff from org
addresses: https://github.com/ublue-os/aurora/issues/1322
We can save roughly 200MiB with this.
Documentation is generally available online, we don't preinstall any
utilities for looking at it anyway, khelpcenter sucks and I imagine that
nobody is using it. Not even KDE Linux ships that monstrosity.
Keeping our own offline documentation obviously, it's way more approachable than random HTML and markdown files.

we add this in main as part of:
80cdd1654f/build_files/install.sh (L150)
Installing an RPM from github releases
We save 150MiB with this. Our pipeline handles the signing of the images
and if users want to sign images then they can use cosign from homebrew,
chainguard container + distrobox.
* fix: update to new plasma-workspace
the upcoming qt6.10.1 update breaks plasma-workspace to endless crash
loop. Adding this for tomorrow when the QT update hits (its already in
kinoite) so we can atleast have a fix.
Don't think this fix gets to stable before our upstream image gets built
* try to exclude discover-kns
* fix: exclude plasma theme for fedora
* kill me
* fix: move removal of lookandfeel package to the end
